Yirgacheffe, a high-altitude region in Ethiopia with abundant rainfall and fertile soil, is celebrated for producing sweet, fruit-forward coffees grown by smallholder farmers cultivating traditional varietals. This G2 Top Lot was sourced through the Project Origin initiative in partnership with Beker Exports, an organisation dedicated to long-term sustainability, farmer training, and full traceability. Beker operates a local farm and processing site, offering guidance in washed processing and quality control while providing premiums and bonuses that support fair payment, stable incomes, and economic growth within the community.
The coffee is hand-picked daily, floated and washed, then de-pulped, fermented for 12–36 hours, and sun-dried on raised beds to ensure clarity and precision in the cup. Washed Yirgacheffe coffees are known for their bright citrus acidity, floral aromas, and gentle sweetness, and this lot exemplifies those classic characteristics. Through Project Origin’s model, this coffee delivers both exceptional flavor and meaningful impact, allowing consumers to enjoy a cup that supports the farmers, families, and traditions behind it.
